Axia Fx was formed in April 2006 and commenced trading in June 2006 with the sole aim of making Foreign Exchange as simple and cost effective as possible. Our majority shareholder is IFX Group Plc a major financial institution. Founded in 1933, IFX Group plc (IFX) is a London-based international business which provides its institutional and retail client base with a wide range of innovative leveraged financial products, principally in the Foreign Exchange and global equity markets.

IFX Markets was founded in August 1995 as a primary market maker in spot and forward Foreign Exchange.

The company now makes competitive prices in over 100 currency pairs, 24 hours a day, from Wellington, New Zealand opening on Sunday evening London time until the New York close the following Friday. IFX Markets is regulated by the UK Financial Services Authority and is authorised throughout the EU under the ISD Passport scheme. The company is a member of the London Stock Exchange and the London Metal Exchange

In 2006, IFX Group, PLC, the parent company of IFX Markets, Ltd, was acquired by and is now a subsidiary of City Index Holdings, Ltd. Established in 1983, City Index Holdings, Ltd. is part of Intercapital Private Group Limited (IPGL Limited), substantial shareholders in the world's leading derivatives broker, ICAP Plc.

The Managing Director - David White

David White has vast experience of the Foreign Exchange world, both as a trader and senior manager. He is widely regarded as one of the top people in his field and is regularly engaged to speak and write articles on the subject.

He started his career as a FX trader 30 years ago. During his career he has worked for HSBC and Swiss Bank before moving to NatWest in 1994 as Chief UK Dealer. He became Global Chief Dealer, which involved devising FX policy, developing relationships across markets and directing senior traders.

In 2004, he left the FX trading world and started his own training and consultancy business and now specialises in the training and development of people directly involved in the financial markets.

David is also the Managing Director of FX Player Limited, part of IFX Group plc, which provides online currency games using real time FX market rates.
